ChemDraw Email Attachments

I'm wondering if anyone has encountered any difficulty attaching ChemDraw .cdxml documents to email using MS Outlook.

We're finding that .cdxml documents are not handled properly while binary .cdx documents are transmitted with no problem.

More info. It seems that Microsoft "banned" file attachments with the extension ".cdxml" back in 2019:

Changes to File Types Blocked in Outlook on the web
The Exchange Team • September 25, 2019

We will soon be adding several additional file extensions to the BlockedFileTypes property

of existing  OwaMailboxPolicy objects. This change will prevent Outlook on the web users

from downloading attachments that have those file extensions.

What file extensions will be added to the BlockedFileTypes list with this change?

Extensions used by the PowerShell scripting language: ".ps1", ".ps1xml", ".ps2", ".ps2xml",

".psc1", ".psc2", ".psd1", ".psdm1", “.cdxml”, “.pssc”

@swm

I have no problem with Outlook and cdxml  attachments. I send my file from Outlook (Started from Linux Mint 20..  or from Windows 11 Pro) to Gmail. I opened the file after download in "  Downloads" with ChemDraw Pro /wine 7/ Linux Mint 20 (see previous answers) or ChemDraw/ Win 11 Pro.

Thank you for the heads-up, we were not aware of that.
