Licensing on general use computer

Looking for info on ChemDraw license recommendations for installing on a general login instrument computer.  We would like to install ChemDraw on a lab computer that runs our Mettler Toledo iControl software.  ChemDraw is required to input new chemicals into the iControl chemical library.  Our internal IT has said that we cannot do this as the software license must be associated with a user id.

Does anyone have experience with this?

Thanks!  Wes

Hi Wes, you can install ChemDraw on that computer. As long as all the users within your company/institutions are registering ChemDraw with their email address, you can use it in the way you describe.

Hi ChemDalf, thank you for your reply.  Just to clarify...the computer where I would like to install has a general login id and password.  To be compliant, would a user need to log out of the general account and login again with their unique user id and password to be able to use ChemDraw on this particular machine?  These users have individual ChemDraw licenses assigned to them.

Do all users see the same applications once they log in? If ChemDraw is installed once by someone on this computer, everybody should be able to access it. As long as users are compliant elsewhere you will be fine.
